Coffee machine - Descale

Difficulty: Easy
Estimated time: ± 20 minutes

Want to descale your coffee maker? Fortunately, that's a piece of cake!

What do you need?

How often a coffee maker needs to be descaled depends on the water hardness, the device and how often it is used. It is recommended that you descale your coffee maker at least once every three months if you use it daily. If your coffee maker has a water filter then descaling once a year is sufficient. Some coffee maker give a message when they need to be descaled. The user manual of your coffee maker describes how and when the device needs to be descaled.

Descaling your coffee maker:

1. Descale the coffee maker.
Fill the water tank of your coffee maker to the maximum volume and add descaler. Place a cup or tray under the appliance. Turn on the appliance and start the descaling function or drain the reservoir.

2. Rinse with coffee maker.
Rinse the appliance several times with clean water to remove all residue of descaler and lime.

Your coffee maker is descaled and ready to use again!
