Dishwasher - Adding rinse aid

Difficulty: Easy
Estimated time: ± 5 minutes

Want to add rinse aid? Find out what it takes to do so here.

What do you need?

  • Rinse aid

When dishes stay wet, it's often related to the rinse aid. This is because rinse aid makes it easier for water to flow off the dishes. Make sure there is enough rinse aid in the dishwasher and that the correct settings have been chosen. The correct settings vary according to the appliance, brand and type. Check your dishwasher's manual/operating instructions for this.

Adding rinse aid:
Near the soap dish you will find two flaps. On one of the flaps you will see a sort of star/snowflake. This is where you can top up the rinse aid. You can just pull the flap open by hand. In some cases it can also be a twist-off cap instead of a flap.

Many types of dishwashers also have a star or snowflake shaped light that comes on when you need to refill the rinse aid.

The correct number is the type- or model number and NOT the serial number. The model number is a row of numbers and/or letters. Sometimes the model number contains a hyphen (-) or a forward slash (/).
