Always first:
- Unplug the power cord.
1. Remove the casing of the microwave
Unscrew the screws at the back and possibly the side. Then you can easily take off the top and side panels.
Note! Even though the plug is out of the socket, parts of the microwave can still be under high voltage. Connect the two contacts of the capacitor with an insulated plier to discharge the appliance. Then disconnect the contact.
2. Discharge the capacitor
Before you start the repair, it's important to first discharge the capacitor. It can still be under high voltage. Use a piece of insulated tool and carefully connect the two voltage terminals of the capacitor together.
3. Remove the old lamp
The lamp is often located at the top of the microwave. To replace the lamp, first loosen the holder, bend the clips with pliers and remove the holder from the microwave. Now you can easily pull out the old lamp.
It might also be that your microwave has a bulb lamp, then carefully unscrew it from the holder.
4. Place the new lamp
Put the new lamp in the spot of the old lamp, if you removed the holder, put it back and bend the clips back in place. When everything is back in place, you can reconnect the contact.
5. Put the casing back
Slide the panels back onto the microwave. Then screw the screws at the back and possibly the side back in.
