Oven - Replace switch

Is your oven's switch broken and do you want to replace it? Luckily, with the help of this step-by-step plan, it will be done in no time!

What do you need?

Always first:

  • Unplug the power cord.
  • Tip: When disassembling the old part, take frequent pictures, so you can easily see how to reassemble the new part.

Replacing the oven switch:

1. Remove the cooking surface.
Loosen the screws of the cooking surface and remove it. Lay the cooking surface aside.

2. Remove the old switch.
Using pliers, disconnect the wiring from the switch. Pull off the control knob that is in front of the switch and unscrew the screws that appear behind it. Remove the switch from the oven.

3. Install the new switch.
Place the new switch in the same place that the old one was attached. Tighten the screws and push the control knob back on. Reattach the wiring to the switch.

4. Replace the cooking surface.
Replace the cooking surface and re-tighten the screws. Good job! You have just replaced the oven switch.
